Lead Client Engineer for Diner Dash Adventures
As the Lead Client Engineer for Diner Dash Adventures, I made key decisions about client technology and architecture, and introduced new game features to boost player engagement and revenue.
One major achievement was developing an immersive avatar customization system, including a garment and accessory store that generated revenue. This allowed players to personalize their avatars, which significantly contributed to the game’s monetization.
I also designed and implemented a custom Spine animation system for dynamic body part replacement during gameplay. This feature added depth to character animations, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
Another highlight was the introduction of the “Secret Menu” Battle Pass system. By offering both Free and Premium tracks, we increased player retention and consistently grew monthly revenue, adding millions of dollars overall.
Throughout development, maintaining a stable and clean codebase was crucial. I established routine code reviews and wrote detailed coding standards to ensure best practices. Regular profiling, optimization, and refactoring were done to guarantee reliable game performance.
We maintained a stable and timely release cycle, with client releases every three weeks. We successfully managed beta, soft-launch, and worldwide releases, all on schedule.
As the on-call point for client engineering issues, I provided quick and effective support to minimize downtime and ensure smooth gameplay. I worked closely with team leads to facilitate sprint planning sessions, aligning project goals with team priorities.
